Man on the Moon :
I’m 16, and i’ve always been interested in architecture. But I’m not sure it’s for me, I might want to design (not build) houses and commercial buildings for others to build, is that what an architect does? Also, I’ve heard its a pain becoming one and it’s expensive like for school (also I’ve heard you have to give speeches frequently in school and stuff, terrifying!!). Is any of this true? And is it worth it and could you still design at least houses without becoming one?

i feel like being an architect. but i think my personality suits the latter more.

I am in my 3rd year of my Architecture class, and we are beginning to design commercial building designs. We were told to make it “green”, meaning that they want me to design the building more environmentally friendly. How are some ways I can incorporate the “green” into my designs? (right now, we are designing a dentist office)

I’m in the process of building a large ballroom. The architect who is doing designs really isn’t getting my ideas across and im wanting to show him what my final vision is. I’ve seen the design your own house software that allow you to do something of this sort is there such thing for commercial use? Or can you use that for a project this big? Also what is a good interior design program? Any help would be appreciated.

it is a mid-rise building that is a mixed development(residential-commercial)
it is designed to revolutionize the way these mixed use buildings are designed because it is more eco-friendly and supports/encourages residents to change their lifestyles to a more sustainable future.
THE BUILDING FEATURES
the first two floors are sleek and curving garden floors, with plants, curving concrete pathways and grass…this 2-level garden houses commercial establishments along a concrete pathway and doubles as a gallery that shows people in the community how we can take care of the environment and how beautiful and comfortable eco-buildings can be.
the next 7 storeys are for the tenants of the development, it houses 1 bedroom, 2-3 bedroom, 3-4 bedroom (two floor) units…..the units have spaces that are flexible(can be expanded and configured in a number of ways) and has garden balconies 1.5m by 8m
in a way this development is like this project in dallas –http://www.inhabitat.com/2009/06/10/revision-dallas-xero-project-will-paint-the-town-green/
and the residential units look something like these mobile homes, very flexible and configured in a number of ways—http://sustain.ca/
please help me pick out a name for the building, thanks!

What interior design course is better?
UTS b design in interior design
UNSW COFA b design (environments and graphics)
UNSW b interior architecture
BILLY BLUE b commercial interior design
WHITEHOUSE b interior design
Also is it better to have a very specific degree, or a very broad degree to allow for many occupation options all across the design field?
thanks.
P.S
